The Eastern Washington ARRL Section extends a warm welcome to Section Manager C Jo Whitney, KA7LJQ, as she officially assumes leadership of the section. With decades of active involvement in amateur radio, emergency communications, and club mentoring, Jo brings a wealth of experience and vision to the Inland Northwest ham community.
In her inaugural address to section members, Jo emphasized priorities including strengthening ARES emergency preparedness networks, supporting affiliated clubs from Spokane to the Columbia Basin, and enhancing youth outreach initiatives in local schools and universities. She highlighted the importance of fostering collaboration among local radio clubs and expanding technical workshops across the section.
Jo expressed gratitude to outgoing leadership and looks forward to visiting club meetings and hamfests throughout Eastern Washington, including upcoming gatherings in Yakima, Walla Walla, and Colville. Members across the section are encouraged to reach out with ideas, club announcements, and suggestions as we work together to advance amateur radio in Eastern Washington.
